ha ha, they have snipers on the roof ready with tranquilizers so the guy stops yelling. Hey did you hear of the other "olympic controversies"? The way the fireworks on TV were actually a computer trick. The little girl who sang was actually a lipsynch because the girl with the voice wasn't the ideal face. and the Spanish team getting heat over an add where they were all stretching their eyes to look slanted... so much sensationalized news...

I saw the picture of the little girl who was actually singing... I thought she was cuter than the girl they used as a stand-in.

Western folk don't understand the Chinese mindset. None of those things are considered wrong in that culture. Its just making the best show they can & about making everyone happy, including themselves. Its only an issue b/c they got 'caught'. If they hadn't, everyone would still be going 'wow, wasn't that fabulous?'

And actually, it WAS fabulous. But its all about taking someone down. Wolf pack mentality our media. And yet, the war in Georgia only gets a mention on pg3 in our papers.

Which is really rich considering that Canada is sucking total ass these games. I don't think we have a single medal. Not surprising given how little our gov't spends on athletes. Hopefully they will do better for 2010 Winter Games (here in Vancouver).
