    The Halloween Thread

Ok, so Halloween is coming up fast and furiously. Do any of you young folks still go out for Halloween? If so, what are your costumes going to be?

Here in NYC, Halloween is awesome. I stopped dressing up a few years ago, when my fuddy-duddy boyfriend at the time didn't want to do anything for it, but went back to dressing up and going out again once I became single. The parties on Halloween night are the absolute BEST and I don't want to miss out on the fun.

Last year I dressed up as Tippi Hedrin from the Birds. I had glued fake birds into a wig and dressed up in 60's garb. I had people on the streets stopping me to tell me how funny my costume was. I have some pics around here somewhere which I may post in the gallery.

This year I'm thinking about going as Amy Winehouse. It's probably going to be the costume du jour, but I think it sounds like fun stumbling around in a beehive and leopard-print dress, and slurring in a British accent.

I love the Tippi Hedrin idea... I wonder if I could talk my girl into that... I doubt it.

I might do something similar to The Crow, I thought about being the Joker, but I bet there will be a million of those.

The best costume I did for my boy was when I shaved his head, painted him black, and dressed him in his Shaq basketball jersy/shorts. This was around the time of the Lakers three-peat championship. He got TONS of candy that year.

Of course, people later pitied him because they thought he had recently undergone chemo.

I'm not sure I'm going to do anything for Halloween. I'm going on a metric century ride the following day.

But I will be in Santa Barbara area so I might go to UCSB and Isla Vista for Halloween. They're known for having a crazy halloween where streets are filled shoulder to shoulder.

Halloween isn't about candy any more Vashti. It's about the sluts.

Exactly. I could tell them with a Muslim accent "Give me your pussy or I go ka-boom!"

One of my first jobs out of college was working for a Halloween costume shop. It was strictly to make money while I tried to get my ass an entry-level corporate job. I have some really good stories from that time which I'd love to post in this thread. It was a really funny job.

Maybe later once I'm done with personal training and girlfriend brunch.

Come on Starbuck - got any more ideas for original, cool, non-slutty costumes? I've got to keep the boys away from my girl.

    maybe a chastity belt? haha

LOL, I will think on this. When my girlfriend and I get together today Halloween will most likely be on the agenda of topics to discuss. We'll be going out together again this year.

BTW, I liked the godzilla and mothra idea. That was adorable.
