What do you all think of this economic cleansing?

    I support what's happening.

Even though I would love to see some companies fall, if it takes something like this to force them to change their ways, then that's good too.

It's said tuition is being raised in many states due to a reduction in state funding.

Maybe now there will be more of a focus on goods production and trades rather than so much white collar services.

I hope college tuition doesn't increase too much. That alone could put me out of school.

I'm not sure I agree with the govt bailing out every industry due to bad management. We will have to pay for it one way or the other. Of course if we dont bail them out then what? I think the economy on the whole says a whole lot more than what people want to hear or believe. We're in the shitter...be prepared.
everything happens for a reason...beginning to wonder why.

Colleges & unis actually do well in recessions. When ppl are out of work they go to school. Don't worry too much about increases in tuition, tho you might see increases in class size.

    I'll tell you what I DON'T support-

A bailout of the Big Three, because all the money is going to go to union benefits

For Christs sake, DM, the issue is a bit bigger than worrying about union benefits. Do you actually think for yourself on this, or are you just parroting back what your family has to say? Use your own brain, child.

No shit, Raver. Isn't the US paying for at least some of this by printing more of its own money? Hello hyperinflation & depression if they keep it up.

This is starting to remind me of the 1920s when german folk burned dmark b/c its was cheaper than buying firewood.

What my family is saying? 2 of my relatives are in the UAW. They do more harm for themselves in the long run than good

No Indi your point was clear, but taken in context (i.e. how you always portray the US) you make it too obvious that you want to see us hurt. Your fingers are just crossed for it. Always negative and hopeful about it

Quoted for being motivated by your wishes is why I could consider it absurd

There you go again, making shit up. I'm not wanting to see you hurt, you ARE ALREADY hurt & things like your government printing its own money is dangerous. And there are good historical precedents for caution in this regard.

But, yep, keep stickin yer head in the sand, DM.

Indi you've said it yourself, blatantly, that you look forward to the US fall from grace. I can go dig up old threads

And secondly, the whole world is hurting. If we get hurt, Canada gets hurt

Yes, go find where I said that. I'm certain you have chosen to take it out of context.

There is a huge difference between describing what *is* and what one would *like*. I happen to think its a shame the US economy has been driven to the ground, unnecessarily, IMO. I've also said THAT before.

And none of this has anything to do with my comment, which is about whether its a good idea for the US to be printing large amounts of its own bailout $$$$. Stick to what's important, DM.

Something to the effect of "I cannot wait to see the US fall from the schoolyard bully in its international politics to having civilized diplomatic relationships with other contries"
