I felt a fluttering while sitting here, and I counted my BPM.
I came out to about 100 BPM, resting.
Even when I was fit, in highschool my BPM was 85-90.

That seems abnormal.
Normal is 60-100 BPM. Still, I would have expected yours to be lower. I wonder if you are anemic.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
How much coffee are you drinking Fras?
A McDonald's small (if that), once a day.
Okay, so its not due to caffeine.
If you are concerned, mbe you should go have one of those free BP tests you can have done in the pharmacy. Do it at least 3 times, tho. Get an average.
If your blood pressure is also high (and if you have a family history), I'd say go see your doctor & discuss. High HR & BP is a big deal, very hard on your CV system, longterm. Its something that might be easily treated with low-dose beta blockers.
After that, mbe you want to consider the old-fashioned exercise program? That helps also, tho I think you want to have a look at your HR & BP first before getting started.
My dad has problems with his heart.
I was told he was born with a hole in his heart, but I guess it healed.
There is a guy in my painting class who drinks 80 cups of coffee a day.
I know what you mean...there's this girl in my philosophy class, no matter where I see here she ALWAYS has a starbucks with her.
I knew someone that worked there that said he'd know people on first name basis and exactly what they wanted that would come in 3+ times a day.
As for the high heart rate that's a little odd, I'd definitely get it checked out. Speaking of resting heart rate, people that have done tons of cardio work tend to have much lower heart rates sometimes ranging in the 40bpm's because their hearts have been conditioned to flow blood more efficiently from all the training.

Is this common medical knowledge? That if you're anemic, your heartrate will be elevated?
I saw this thread and I instantly had to comment cuz my resting rate has always been 80 to 90. However, I have a blood condition that causes me to be constantly anemic unless carefully monitored, and today I was feeling unwell and I checked my heart-rate, resting, and it was 110.
It scared the crap out of me, so I waited 10 minutes, tried again, STILL 110.
Right now it's 102. If I can chalk it up to anemia, I'm cool. If I'm dying... not so cool.
I drink caffeine like there's no tomorrow. (Trying desperately to cut back). My BPM is 69, though. I think you should get checked out. Don't sweat it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Try checking your heart rates in the am just after you wake but before you get up. If its still that high, I would see a doc. You guys seem too young to be sporting HRs of 100.
And 80 cups of coffee a day? Brewed coffee? BS, I don't believe that. Surely you'd die from that much caffeine?
Yes 80 cups a day is clearly bullshit. Say he has eight hours sleep a night, that's 5 cups an hour evey hour, from the time he wakes up till the time she goes to bed, or a little under a cup every ten minutes. I don't think so.

Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.
could be stress?
