Start riding you lazy ass. Your heart rate will drop as well. Get a heart rate monitor, figure out your target heart range, make a schedule and stick to it.
Mine is up to 100-110 right now, I'm loaded up on sugar and caffeine.

And for the record, after a full year of daily exercising and physical exertion, with a very healthy diet, my heart rate still stayed in the 90's.

That's the best time to find your resting heart rate.
Were you measuring your heart rate just sitting down or doing nothing? If so 100bpm isn't abnormal. Like I said measure it right when you wake up and you're well rested. I bet it would be a lot lower.
