uhhh...no? Getting the period might be inconvenient and some get really painful cramps. It might not be the best days but it won't make ppl go "crazy". Maybe she is using that as an excuse to throw a fit at you.

It is NOT uncommon for women to suffer from PMS, and yes, they feel like they are going crazy and can be bitchy. Women are slaves to their hormones, and the more they flucuate, the more symptomatic she will become.

As for me, I call my PMS my moments of clarity; a time when I see the world for how it really is: full of really stupid people who piss me off.

Some women just get very uncomfortable during that time and therefore become uneasy around everyone. Some women are very pleasant and slightly horny. I'm quite pleasant but I refuse to make hormone fluctuations an excuse to treat people cruelly.

As for PMS, some get the bloating, etc. and again use it as an excuse to be mean.

Not everyone with PMS gets mean. Some people get severely depressed.

Honestly, you can tell by the responses which people's hormones are less affected. I really don't think a person can understand this fully unless they've been there.

You can't even tell the difference with me. I'm always evil.

Actually, what happens to me is that I get severely drained and it makes me a little short-tempered because I'm just exhausted. I've started taking this stuff called Aunt Flow, which I bought at Whole Foods (no, I am not making this up), and it totally helps. I just take it while I'm actually on my period, and it's really made a difference.

I tend to have pretty severe mood swings the day before my period starts. I can always tell when it's coming because I tend to lash out, or just try to avoid people to save the embarrassment of lashing out. Luckily, my boyfriend knows the secret-weapon-cure for this day: lots of wine and chocolate. If I'm having a mood swingy day, he just hands me a Kit-Kat and a bottle of Cabernet and I usually calm down quickly.
