    Happy Mother's Day

So I snuck into my mom's house today. She's a nurse and has to work. I'm going to surprise her with dinner. And no, I'm not taking her to some dumb restaurant and spending hundreds of dollars for tiny portions of mediocre food.

I butterflied some pork tenderloin and stuffed it with cooked apples, onions, dijon and brown sugar. That's going to roast another two hours or so. I'm going to steam some broccoli with lemon zest and sesame seeds. Also we're going to have buttered noodles with grated parmesan and a cucumber and tomato salad. With homemade honey & raspberry vinaigrette, I might add.

I got her a bottle of chardonnay. Honestly, I don't know jack about wine. I assumed that since it was white meat white wine would pair with it. Am I wrong?

So when she gets home the table will be set, my sister will present her with a beautiful gift, and we'll all sit down to a good dinner.

Yeah. I'm bragging. Totally negates the gesture, right?

Anywho, what are you all doing for mother's day? Anything special?

Oh, and before I forget! Happy mother's day to all the sexy MILFs. You'll be frolicking about in my head as I lay down for bed tonight.

Your mom is a lucky woman to have such a considerate and talented son! I'm sure she will love it. And yes - chicken goes with white wine.

My kids dragged their bottoms out of bed to go hiking with me this morning, my son swing-danced with me, and then we all went out for brunch at a Mexican restaurant. My husband cleaned the house and subsequently decided we need to hire a housekeeper.

    Happy Mother's Day, y'all!

    Happy Mother's day everyone!

Thats very nice of you Gribble. Which ever woman you do decide to settle with for marriage(if at all)is one lucky woman.

Well, my boyfriend cooked me breakfast. Then we headed to the beach with our daughter and had a great day. They're both knocked out from the sea lol.

I don't celebrate Mother's Day today, in Poland we have it on 26th of May
    Also other :
    1st of june - Child's day
    23rd of june - Father's day
30th of September - Boy's day(tho there is a Men's day on 10th march, we celebrate only this day, more common)
6th of December -Santa's names day. Santa Clause comes already then, and leaves his presents under the pillow. I loved it when I was a child. It was so nice to wake up on 6th december and check out what is under the pillow.
then on 8th of March - Women's day

I dunno what I do for mum.I think I will buy her something in Spain.

That's very sweet of you, Gribble.

I couldn't see my mom today, but I called her and sent her a bouquet of tulips which she loved. I wish I could see her more.

So I was at an AmeriCorps alumni sporting event today, and while we were eating lunch, one of the girls pulled out her phone and said, "I need to call my mom!"

Then 2 other girls said the same thing.

Then I said, "Why does everyone need to call their moms? Ooooh, it's mother's day isn't it?"

    "You didn't call your mother?"

"Yeah, I don't think I even have her number anymore."

I just realized... this day has lost meaning to me...

My grandmother died last year... and my Mom probably wouldn't accept any grand gesture right now...

Well anyway... Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely mothers out there...
