Sometimes I exact revenge. If the transgression directed my way really warrants it.

Except that I don't call it revenge. I consider it a social responsibility to make the target aware of their screw up.

Revenge should be swift and wholly destructive. It should leave your victim incapable of reciprocation. If you do not have the stomach to deliver such decisive revenge you should not bother with it in the first place lest you create a never-ending cycle.

Nah. Not really. That's the sheep's response to adversity. It's good you think that way, though. Wolves need their sheep to keep in line. Makes things that much easier for us.

Live and let live. By exacting revenge we usually only hurt ourselves more in the process. Unless the transgression was something completely off the scales which deserves retribution (like the person hurting your child) I say leave it be and focus your mind on something positive instead.

In my opinion on an emotional level revenge is for children.

Mature people accept what happend, learn the lessons taught and move on, avoiding making the same mistakes again.
