What does it mean when you're gf gives you a nickname? I'm assuming it's a good thing, am I right? Should I give her a nickname or not?

For example, she calls me her prince.

What the nickname IS will determine if it's a good thing or not... I mean, if your nickname is "dumbass", it probably won't last. On the other hand, if you are nicknamed after something edible, she likes you.

Don't mean to thread jack, but how do you determine what a good nickname would be for your bf/gf? I've been with this girl for a bit now and i can not think of one... i thought of a couple but they may be a bit odd . as for the situation of you getting one. If it is good then yeah prince is a good one so take it lol

What you are posting about... don't read into it too much. And your response to call her anything and everything related to beautiful and good things will make her feel great.

I would hate if my baby called me just one nickname. It would make me wonder how many other people he has called that name and if he was using a name just to remember me.

I wouldn't like it if someone called me "Princess."
The nickname you give her should come from the heart. Then she will really appreciate it - it should describe how you feel about her.
Her calling you her "prince" is very good.
I don't think it's a good idea to just make up a nickname if you are not the nickname giving kind of guy. She will know it is not genuine and it could get you in trouble when she tries to read into it and you are just trying to be nice.

You know what I think? I think this particular nickname gives you a subtle clue as to who she wants you to be to her. Do you know what I mean by this?
It also gives you insight into HER - her romantisism, her heart, her idealistics.
