    So... what's love?

What's love? Sometimes you know that logically you should be falling for someone (as in that person is very nice, understanding, good-looking... you get the gist and sometimes that person likes you too) and yet you do not and just treat the person as a friend. Instead, you fall for someone else and get yourself hurt (and sometimes hurt that other person you SHOULD fall in love with). So what's love?

love is whats not allowed. love is dangerous and manipulative, and as you say, never there for the right person.

A friend of mine just gave the best definition. Love is when your ass gets kicked heavily, and its not in the physical way

Love is something that is unexpected.
Something to definaltey appreciate when you do have it because one day you never know what can happen.
Love is to have respect and to be respected.
Love is to trust and not to betray.
Love comes in different colors and shapes
Love can come 2.3 times or maybe even more or maybe just once in your lifetime.
I will also say that sometimes you may think its love but is not, because some think that lies, lust, & abuse is love and its not.
Sometimes you may think you are in love with someone and you may find that you really like this other person and then what? I think that matters of the heart should be taken slowly and cautiously.
Love is beautiful when it comes knocking on your door, but its not easy it takes work and dedication, communication lots of tenderness & care. Thats my opinion.

I agree with Blue. Any time that you think you "love" another person, and/or they love you, and it ends badly, it isn't true love. There are a lot of different types of love. I think the love that is being asked about is "True Love". What is that? It's unconditional. No matter what that person says to you or does to you, you will always love them. That doesn't mean that is your guy or girl cheats on you or abuses you that you should stay with them. But you can still love them. And it doesn't mean that your relationship will always be perfect. But you will always be able to work through it and in the end you will love each other even more.

So when someone says "I love you" the word is used loosely? Because apparently love is supposed to be two ways. Can't I love someone but she doesn't love me back and therefore it ends badly?

I think love is even love than you are being rejected. In my opinion true love can also be only from one side and there not absolute a need to be that perfect couple. It's not even important to know the other one inside out, but the point is that you accept your partner as the one he is. And even more dont just accept him, because everybody has to take his partner as the one he is, but EVEN WANT him in the way he/she is. With all her/his bad and also her/his good sides. Thats "true" love for me.

it's easier to describe the effects than it is to define it. To me love is that magnetic feeling (i assume u mean romantic love) toward a member of the opposite sex that makes you want to spend alot of time with the said party, ignore/overlook their flaws etc etd see my point exactly the effects are so much easier to put down. SO I guess love is what it is and when it happens lets just say we'll all know so we shouldn't worry if we can't describe it.

I think love cannot be described by words alone, i think it just happens to some people, to all people at least once in their lifetime. But when you fall in love, i think you just...know, you can't ask someone what love is because, the other person, no other person knows how you feel about the person you love. What would you die for? LOVE What would you live for? LOVE What would you fight for? LOVE What would you do almost anything for? LOVE. To me love is wanting to do everything you can for the other person to make them happy, to respect, trust, and care for them in every way, but it also depends on the other person, they must respect you, trust you and care for you, and whether you fall in lve with someone or not, doesn't mean that like in movies it just happens, that it just works because life doesn't just work, life is hard and painful and love is one of the main causes of that pain and hurt.

God that sounds really crap and corny lol.
