As many as two dozen people witnessed the gang rape of a 15 year old, and not one of them did a thing to stop it.
And you're going to tell me people aren't evil?

God, so atrocious in the Old Testament, so attractive in the New--the Jekyl and Hyde of sacred romance.

If people are good only because they fear punishment and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.

Yeah, that's been all over the news in the Bay Area ... It's pretty f'd up ... Richmond has been shitty for years now ... was even the murder capital of CA at one point, if it isn't still.

They already released one of the adult suspects. The others have a potential life sentence to face, but because of the urge to speed up the process (and the addition of plea bargains), these ****ers will probably get 5-10.
Too bad cell phone companies can't track who took photos and videos of this crime. They should get arrested and tried too. It's a sick ****in' world we live in. Technology should have been used to prosecute and arrest these guys, not as entertainment.

Unfortunately, intervening has its own consequences. Happened fairly close to my place.

here in France you can be prosecuted for doing nothing, witnessing a crime and not alerting the police etc.....a few years ago a cpl of low life parents were charged with the abuse of thier child, and the french police took the whole sorry family to court and prosecuted them for standing back and doing nothing.....
Snitching isn't taken lightly either, but there's gotta be more information out there to get these guys locked up for good!
... It's hard to believe that kids are defending these actions tho ... a damn shame.

Good samaritans get backlashed with regularity. Its wrong on so many levels.
More plain-clothes police. Especially in areas with repeated violence.
Its Halloween. Be safe tonight everyone.

You can't really blame them so long as you understand that not everyone has the balls to be a hero. Without condoning nor condemning, I can understand why they did what they did.
"..he didn't do anything to stop the attack because he feared reprisal."
If this happened to me in the streets of NYC, my knowledge of gang-related vengeance crimes would've prevented me from helping the girl right away. At best, I would've slipped away to call the police. I ain't about to send someone to jail so their friends can find me and **** me up later.
Also, if that explanation doesn't fly - there's Kitty Genovese.
Reasons like this make me glad it's only another 7 months before I get my concealed carry and handgun permit so I will never be unarmed and without full magazines forever. Carrying around my AK47 isn't practical
Reasons like this make me super fuccking pissed that my little sister cannot own a handgun because she is under 21
The family of this victim should buy a scoped and powerful rifle and like an "assassination" kill all the perpetrators once their joke of a prison sentence is up. Preferably shot in the gut so prolong the dying process
Oh yeah, and instances like this do not make the world a fuccked up place. I hardly believe a group of social degenerates in Richmond California is anything like middle America
