So, I confessed my feelings to him and he said "I'm sorry i have to tell you how I feel... we got to close i see you more as a really close friend and nothing more I'm really sorry to tell you but i hat to some time." this was all threw text. but, the next day my best friend, shes his cousin. showed me a text he got from him that day. which the reason she was talking to him was because she stole this love letter I wrote and was going to give it to him... anyways, he said to her "She is just a friend and nothing more we got to close it would be weird for me and it would be weird for the both of us if we broke up."

He keeps saying we got to "close"... but, isn't that a good thing?
My best friend thinks hes afraid of hurting me or that I will hurt him.

What do you think? I'm very confused about this all... I've never had a boyfriend before...

All I know is that, I love being around him, he makes me happy. and I dont want to give up.

You're confused? He has made it abundantly clear to you and your friend that he is not interested in you romantically.

Close CAN be a good thing, but doesn't = a love relationship.

For your own good you should really try taking a break from him. Absolutly no contact for at least two weeks, but a full month would be even better.

Go lick your wounds, rebuild your bruised ego and flirt shamelessly with other guys.

U are right it is really a confusing situation. I think you must leave him for a while and let see how does he feels without you. Sometime people realize they are in love when that person is not around.

It might trigger a emotional bond in his heart also. Lets give it a try...
