ebook readers killer... and probably notebook killers.
ebook readers killer... and probably notebook killers.

I think it's to small and to limited in what it can do to replace a laptop.
An e-reader is something i've never understood. I prefer a real book over any screen to read large amounts of text.
Gadget really...nothing more.
Can someone please explain what is so great about constantly being reminded of that which you cannot have?
Yeh I saw that earlier today. It looks and acts like a bigger iPhone. How well it does will really depend on whether there is a market for it.
Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame
God or the Devil

My bf is a Mac specialist and has a raging boner over it, he can't even get one for 60 days. Meanwhile I haven't even touched the GPS he got me for Christmas. I am Amish compared to him.
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
I doubt this one will pull through.
I use a laptop if I want computing applications, watching movies, work, studies and comfortable web use, which wins in terms of sheer processing power, ease of use and display.
I use an iphone if I need internet information "on-the-go", obviously phone calls, and music, which wins in terms of mobility, durability and instant information.
With an iPad, I just don't see how it offers anything new. It's probably the size of a Mac Air, if size and weight was an issue, it's utility is that of an oversized iphone, and he didn't mention the slighest thing about support for running applications, file storage or such utility.
Make it able to be used as a tablet for graphical design/modelling/efficient writing, something more useful rather than entertaining to rival an average laptop, and I'd might be more convinced. 'til then I think it will belly-flop into a market that is already satiated and might for once consider their budget.
I'm not sure how comfortable it would be to type on something that's notebook-sized but doesn't have a fold-down keyboard.
I won't give up netbook for this..
i need big disk

For serious reading and writing, I'm not convinced. The keyboard looks uncomfortable to use and possibly carpal-tunnel inducing.
One reason I like the kindle so much is because the books are printed in electronic ink. It's really easy on the eyes unlike light-emitting computer screens.
Could be cool for watching movies and tv when travelling, but that's about all I think I'd use it for.

Whats the price on this thing? I'm sure its ridiculously over priced like most of the apple products....
"Invest wisely and have money work hard for you"
Might be good for people who only use a computer for internet, music and movies, and nothing else.
And by people I mean chicks.
Is this really a new idea?
I wazzzz here
PP, lol.
