Did I make a mistake?

I broke up with my girlfriend last night because I didnt really feel a connection between us anymore. Whenever we were around eachother she always seemed mad at me and if felt like she hated me and I couldnt take that anymore.

But when I was breaking up with her she was crying saying she loved me more than anything and I was the best guy shes ever had. SO now I feel like a made the wrong decision because all I really wanted out of the relationship was to feel loved. She has trouble showing affection. But I had no idea she cared about me this much and its too late to fix it I already tried.

You didn't try to talk to her about this before you decided to dump her?

Don't just dump her without giving her another chance. Talk to her, be an adult and see if these can be resolved.
If you need to be shown love and she isn't that sort of person... it means you're not compatible in that way and well, you have to decide if thats something you can live with.

Act quick though, she will start craving and contacting you non-stop to save things. If it goes on too long, you will be put off by the neediness.

If you like her, giver her another chance. Just mention to her what made you mad or upset about the relationship and try to improve on that.
