Thank you everyone for your response to this thread. It's been two days and he hasn't contacted me..I feel that he expected me to call him briefly after receiving that message - and there would give us a reason to "put our differences aside" and be there for each other. But I don't want him to get the idea that I want to be with him anymore.
Plus, if a family member of mine dies, I will NOT tell him or contact him. He is not a part of my life any more and I am not going to mislead him in to thinking there is a chance of us getting close.
