I don't know what I want out of life.

I can't decide where I want to live, city, suburb, rural.

What I want to live in, condo, house, boat.

Whether or not I want children.

If I want children, how soon, or late I should have them.

I just can't seem to figure out what I want because I see the pros and cons of them all.

Life is gonna pass me by before I can decide!

    I'm running out of time!!

You have plenty of time to figure things out Fras. It's better to spend more time analyzing these things then jump in head over heels and regret it later.

A lot of those decisions don't have to be made right now
    Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame

You are still too young for making those decisions, anyway. You don't have to have everything all figured out just yet...
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I only have 7 more years before I'm middle aged!

EDIT: Less than that, since my birthday is in May.

Middle aged? Are you planning to die at 60?

I would consider 30-50 middle aged, 50+ to be old.

I must disagree with the two of yous. At some point in life you will find a partner who is best suited to be a mother for your child and will still bring you joy in bed. If you find her, than you must not search any further.
You will be too old to raise a child, or to start a life together. It takes a lot of planning to start a family, buy a house, etc. Fras is not 19 anymore. Put your foot down and start it already. The sooner you start the more
you will achieve by the time you die. The more you will have to give your children.

Just make a ton of money until you do figure it out. If the housing market is reasonable where you are, buy something and start paying it off. Its almost always a better investment than renting and you can use the profit to buy your next place when you settle.

Early financial security give you a LOT of options, Fras. Don't knock the 10+ years you have over all those kids who will be paying off their college debt while you're making your last house payment.

But in any case I do agree with that thinking for young professionals.

You will find that in those 7 years a lot will change including your perspective and how you view things right now. In 7 years when you are thirty and still don't have kids, you might view that with a sigh of relief not with disappointment.

There's no rush for you yet.

You decide when you decide. Maybe you're not content with your life the way it is now; job, girlfriend, whatever. It's easier when you have everything going your way.

I want to live somewhere mountainous and temperate on the east coast, like Georgia. Near urban, but outside of town.
I want a 3 story house and furthermore, I want to build it myself.
I definitely want at least two children, but I don't plan to have them until my late 20s.

As I remember good, your gf is few years older than you ,right? If it's right, then at least you need to make a decission if you want to have children with her or not. If you are still young ,her clock is already a bit ahead of yours and besides it's always like that, that people who want and plan to have children ,need few years to get pregnant and those who don't, get pregnant after one time

I'm with Sonrisa, ok you're still young but not AS young as the people who still can take their time. 23, right? I would say, slowly take your time to make a decission, soon
    I wazzzz here
