    Describe your perfect "Gentlemen"

I'm curious to see what the ladies opinions on what a Gentlemen is. All women say they want one but when you get down to it they all have totally different perspectives on what that is exactly. What do you ladies think?

    A gentleman is:
    -one who holds doors open
    -one who opens car doors
-one who gives up his jacket in the cold
-one who lets the lady order first
-one who offers to pay (in most, not all circumstances)

So I'm guessing that's pretty traditional but it's classic.

in my opinion a gentleman is someone who can be trusted, someone who will fight my corner and someone who wouldnt let me down. a gentleman should offer safety and protection not open doors.

    Yeah, that. ^

But i would like to add that a gentleman doesn't dress like a slob, talk smack about other people, pass gas in anyone's presence, scratch himself, talk or text message on dates, or make anyone feel dumb (even if they are). And he is kind to the wait staff in restaurants.

Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

This to me is good, but this is also just a MAN (IMO) not a gentleman.

    A gentleman:
    - Shows me the respect that I show him.
    - Respects my love of family and tries to impress my parents.
    - Is honest and "real" with me. ie he doesn't play too many crazy/silly games.
    - Opens doors and treats me like a lady.
    - Protects me when I need protecting.
    - He has integrity.

    Interesting feedback to the question.

My next question would be if that is what most women want why do they get bored of them so fast an easily, typically? Its happened to me and a handful of gentlemen I know. Often times I notice they will try to hold onto the guy as a friend while they go out and get the WRONG who they are attracted too just because they play games and know how to push their buttons...

A gentleman is someone who actually cares about the people around him and acts accordingly.

Because true gentlemen are often times very boring and are easily walked all over. Your friends are a prime example of that... they stick around when the gal goes out and does the bad boy. Guess what? The "bad boy" is thrilling and fun, the gentlemen is kind but boring.

I don't want a true gentleman because that gets a little boring, I want a nice guy but I want said 'nice guy' to know when and how to get pissed off. Nothing is worse than when I'm upset over something like bad service and he just sits there and makes excuses and says "calm down" or something to that degree, if you know what I mean.

I believe the same is true for men (in some way). Men say they want a good girl, but what before they want a "good girl" they want to run free and have sex with lots of girls to spread their seed type deal, but in the end the get with a GOOD GIRL. Women are the same in a way. They will settle down with a gentleman/ nice guy but for fun they play with the bad boys...

A gentleman: a man you look up to, someone who not only treats his lady right but treat all people with respect.

A gentleman never belittles others. Someone you want to be seen with.

Thats the best answer I have heard. I like how it isn't personal in tone like the majority of the posts here. "He should do this FOR ME". Thats how most of these ladies are coming off. Thanks Giga.
