How big was Patrick Swayze in the USA?

Just wondering...I've always liked him as an actor and also as a person.

I don't know why. I've always thought he was a kind and intelligent man...

He was pretty popular from like the 80s-mid 90s...but then he kinda fell off for the most part.

He never really went away just didn't do anything big...he came back doing a tv series although I don't remember what it was and he did it up until passing away from pancreatic cancer.

He had and has a following of people who like him....I never really cared for any of his movies but thats just me.

Me neither. I just can't see what the fuss was, with Dirty Dancing.

I didn't mind Ghost I guess. Can't think of anything else he did.

I thought Swayze was kind of cheesy in his big hits, like Dirty Dancing or Roadhouse. But I respect him for Donnie Darko. It was an unflattering role, but he did a good job with it.
