uk flights grounded

BBC News - Icelandic volcanic ash alert grounds UK flights

Here it is slightly hazy when we look in the distance across the hills, there is also intermittent 'dust' showers.

Its causing havok at work as we had some really important cargo due to come over this afternoon and they are having to come by eurostar instead :S

@Qwerty...don't catch those snowflakes on the tip of your tongue.

Seriously though if you haven't you may wanta think about taping your windows and put towels down at the base of your doors to try and keep some of that dust out....that is if you haven't already.

My older sis was flying from London to Uganda to visit my parents, but apparently her BA flight was cancelled. That was a few weeks ago though, so not sure whether it was a weather event or a strike.

Lipp, that wouldve been the strike we had.

The weather only started affecting the uk from last night. Now expected to last until sunday.

Did you see the name of that volcano? I have no idea how in the hell you are suppose to pronounce it. I think I'll just name it "Iceland Volcano."

Smoke and steam hangs over the volcano under the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in Iceland, early Thursday April 15, 2010, which has erupted for the second time in less than a month

Fjalla is similar to Fjäll, which sort of means a snowy mountain, jokull just means glacier, I guess Eyja is just a place name.

So the glacier on the snowy mountain at Eyja. Yay.
