    where is the love???

i'll try to keep this as short as possible.

    1. i met this guy in july 09, we liked each other so we got together, but after a while, he dumped me.
    2. problem is i got more attached to him than to any of my ex's.
    3. we didnt talk after the break up, but when we finally talked he said he would like to date me again and that he's sorry for what he had done.
    4. i said ok, i guess, and so the plan was to start going out again once he didn't have to do so much work for univerity.
    5. now he has written all his exams, and when i reminded him (this was my HUUUUGE mistake, but he treated me just like any other friend..), he said that he still doesn't have time and his sister is going into uni this year so he has too much stuff on his mind. also, we haven't even texted since that conversation.
    6. apparently he told his friend he likes me as a friend now (obviously, after 2 months of not seeing me!)... anyhow, even after our break up he had asked me if i wanted to be just friends, and i said no, i just couldnt take all that. so does he really mean it now, that he wants to be just friends?
ANYWAY. his birthday is in two days, so pretty darn soon, and i don't know what to say to him. just a simple "happy birthday!" and see what he says? I REALLY REALLY want him back, it hurts now as bad as it hurt when we broke up. please tell me what to do, thank you so so much...

Ignore him and never give him the time of day again. Don't talk about him to anyone... don't think about him.... cut him out of your life.

If he approaches you again... make him fight to continue any correspondence or reunion.

    Get on with your life.

I believe you should define love as a mutual verb involving committment between two people. Anything one sided is obsession. I wouldn't make any effort to talk to him or about him any more. If you are required to be in contact because of classes or work, I would be nice and friendly not not needy. If you happen to see him on his birthday, a simple " happy birthday" would be in order. But I wouldn't make any effort to see him.
