    Red Dead Redemption

Anybody played it yet? Is it worth getting? It looks pretty badass. I loved playing Gun on the PS2 and this looks like a lot more fun.

For those of you who aren't familiar here is the trailer

It's being advertised everywhere at the moment, all the buses and trams have the ad for it. It's supposed to be Rockstar's GTA like western. It's looking good, but the theme doesn't appeal that much to me. I'd rather go with Alan Wake.

I always kinda liked westerns. They really haven't made any good ones in a long time. Tombstone was good and the remake 3:10 to Yuma was good but other than that I can't think of any made recently...well I also liked Apoloosa but it was more okay than anything else.

More than anything else I think the reason why I like them is because (at least since I was a kid) they haven't made many and I don't feel like the stories are overdone. They just make so much of the same thing over and over again its nice to see something different.

And other than Gun I think this is about the only other western game made recently.

Its been getting stellar reviews from every source I have seen and was called one of the years best by G4.

I finished God of War and haven't had any interest or time to play video games. I scrapped the idea of getting a PS3 or any system because I just don't sit down and play anymore

Play the God of War series, its better than GTA and rivals Final Fantasy. I mean what is cooler than becoming the God of War and slaughtering absolutely everything that gets in your way (in brutal fashion to the extreme) as you try to conquer Zeus and Olympus?

I want a ps3 just to play God of War 3...I have to know how it ends!!!

See thats the thing about this game though, Rockstar did it and I really don't care for the GTA games that much. I mean they are fun but kinda monotonous in my opinion. Not enough story for my liking. I've said before I love Bioware games and thats what they do...story....its like watching a movie that you are playing at the same time.

It ends how you expect it to for the most part, but the video sequences and the detailing in III are beyond words.

IGN.com has a "God of War in 5 minutes" video that explains the entire story.

Oh I'm sure it is pretty predictable...but I took kratos to the bottom of Mount Olympus with the Titans behind me...I must conquer Zeus!

'fraid that my trusty old laptop doesn't cope with any new games, nor does my wallet. Currently, when time permits, I tend to make my way through Splinter Cell.
