Why do I have this feeling?

I know I have posts on here of me getting over her.....but everytime I try to let her go something tells me "no, don't do that, she'll be gone forever"

Her and Steve broke up, now they're "dating" so we began talking again about our relationship. I think this whole Steve thing is bullshit. If I could go back in time knowing what I know now, I would have kicked his ass the first time he laid eyes on her.

Why do these inner voices keep telling me not to let go? I don't know what to do anymore...

If it's any consolation, what you're experiencing isn't uncommon. The prospect of moving on with your life and leaving someone you cared about behind, knowing full well that she'll be moving on as well, is generally somewhat exacerbating towards the feelings of anxiety that can be present after the end of a relationship.
