Does guys often look up to their ex?

It's possible that after a few years to happen but depends on how weak was the breakup reason and their will to go on.

Usually long-term relationships fail because there isn't any solid, underlying friendship.

Assuming they were the dumper, it depends upon if they ever thought anything about you. And if they did, they can return at anytime. 2 months, 2 years, 10 years, etc.

If they didn't, then no reason to seek you out.

I have a few exes I never heard anything from again. Then I have one who came back after 10 years - so yeah, it can happen
