Guys how is the economy on your side of the planet?

I know...what a pragmatic question??? Not sexy at all...

Anyway since I came back home 4 years ago job market has been tough...after a few par time jobs...I worked as an admin in real estate for nearly 2 years and was made redundant as my boss (now a friend) could not afford to keep me...the sales were scarce...

Now I've a job miraculously in export after 7 months of unemployment!!!

Talking to my ex boss and seeing what goes on in my current workplace I get the feeling the job market is improving. My ex boss has sold 9 places since the begining of Spring (small places but still compares to none last year) and we keep getting increasing orders at my current place.

Compared to last summer i've seem about 4 times more tourists around (last year only a few people indulged in a holiday) and other people I know are beginning to find a job too...

    What do you think?

We keep being told it's getting better, but there aren't any more jobs here than there were a year ago. It's pretty scary. I'm trapped in a hell job because I can't find anything else, not even the prospect of anything else.

I was in your shoes for ages. It's kinda miracles I foudn something in the field I wanted (but it"s only a 6 month contract though).

On this forum and another one I attend (yes I am all loyal to LF I find that many people have experienced shifts in their career, stalls and desillusion.

I wish everybody could do what they enjoy. I envy successful artists who can make a living with their craft.

I hope you'll have some openings in the near future Giga.

The economy here in a Union state (as opposed to a right-to-work state), is horrendous if you're not already Union.

In other words, very poor, especially for tradesmen.

I've been looking pretty hard to score the gig I did today.

i have the same thing here... was told it is getting better.. i am doubtful.

Inflation is hitting us bit by bit now..

There is a strong job competition between our citizens and foreigners here too... foreigners are willing to accept lower salary which not many of our local willing to do so especially fresh graduate..

Lastly, i heard alot about double dip for the economy... not sure it will happen. It does happen, it gonna be another mega blow to everyone~

the economy is sucking right now. everybody hates their job but doesn't want to leave. wage slavery.

my favorite restaurant closed down recently. it was ALWAYS packed. they had some really good red chile they smothered on their burritos. so incredibly sad they closed. the only businesses that are surviving are the non local ones where the owner has a lot of money to spare.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.

I just found a job, and my buddy just quit his job for a higher paying job.

I know it's not the norm, but it's possible.

I feel a bit guilty for saying so, but I can't complain. Yet.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I say tax the hell out of the rich.

I'm not rich, so why should I care?

They're gonna pay millions to lawyers and lobbyists to advocate for them anyway, they don't need me to defend them.
