Confused by girlfriends sudden obsession with "Clubbing"

i like clubbing because i love music and dancing. it's exciting and relaxing and enjoyable. but mostly i do have to say it's for those who can dance for hours. God knows I can. 8 hours straight.

What's the obsession with 'clubbing' anyway? There are so many other activities and places a couple could do or go to that are loads more fun than confining themselves into a crowded room.
