Do you believe in ghosts?

Do you believe in ghosts? If so what do you suppose they are? Why are they here? What is their purpose?

I believe that ghosts are a figment of our imagination. They justify the death of a friend or a loved one. They justify the great unknown - creeping sounds at night that tickle our reflexes.

They are boogiemen created to scare children. They are here because a lot of kids are naughty and need scaring.
Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame

I don't believe in ghosts, not at all, or in an afterlife for that matter. Ever notice how all the "evidence" can be explained otherwise?

When I was young, parents used other things to scare children. For example old gypsy or big scary eagle stealing the children that didn't want to come back home before dark. Or ,later, it was more of a local urban legend, there was a guy, called Smile, that was cutting a wide smile, from ear to ear, on peoples faces. A lot of people actually believed that it was true
I wazzzz here

The thing about that is that the "cutting a wide smile" part isn't exactly an urban legend.. Glasgow smile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't believe in them no. I'd have to see one to believe it.

I think they are made up by people going a bit senile.

Perhaps ghosts exists but they're not spirits but just energy taken on a different form.
