a paradox

Like many others, I went through a painful relationship.

It hurt SOOOOOOOOOOOO much when I was going through it, I read lots (over 30 books) on relationship skills and self help.

A brief summary of how painful it was:
My wife had no interest in any of that and acted as though it was an intrusion for me to learn about how to fix our marriage. The more that I reached out to her, the more that she pulled away.

Anyway, I learned a lot. I'm now into charity, volunteer work, and have work for 2 years on a crises counseling hot line.

My problem is

I meet a girl. She's very attracted in me. Not only to be friends but it's obvious that she's physically attracted as well.
UNTIL
She finds out that I'm into charity, volunteer work, and have work for 2 years on a crises counseling hot line.

She then changes her mind and only wants to be friends.

This isn't a one off thing but a steady pattern.

I want sex. It seams like the only way that I can get it is to troll the bars and look for a one night stand! That way, we can have sex before she finds out that I'm into charity work!
