If I lived with her I have absolutely no doubt that I would prefer to jerk off than bother with sex. I can't imagine being attracted to someone I see every day.

Seeing a girl once every week or two, however, I definitely choose sex over a wank every single time.

i should have excluded when the gf has her period...i think that's a pretty obvious reason.

i'm just looking for any reasons a guy would prefer to jerk off than have sex with his significant other...when the significant other is ready and willing.

Okay, a bit of clarification. Does it count if you could have sex but you're so annoyed at your GF you leave and end up masturbating later? 'cuz I've done that plllllenty of times. Never made a conscious decision to chose my hand over a lady, though.

^^^ i think we should also specify what age posters are. it's clear than young ones would prefer to have sex because they still have the energy to put with our bullshit. however the older and more experienced would not be so willing. and then as Grib has mentioned a big role plays whether you live with the girl. i'd also like to mention that the older the ladies are, the less bullshit and more willing they would be. i really think that young ones would greatly benefit from older not so good looking, than younger hot ones, when it comes to getting laid and actually enjoying it.

Yup. I am a bit of a cougar hunter myself; older ladies absolutely are less bullshit, more confident, and more aggressive. Not to mention way better in bed. They can be even crazier then young chicks, though.

But yeah, I'm torn. If this was a poll on "have I turned down sex from a GF" before the answer would be yes, many times; being annoyed destroys my sex drive. I've also stopped during sex and wanted to go elsewhere and masturbate but I'm way too nice and didn't want the chick to think she was just awful in bed so I didn't. I have stopped sex and started masturbating like it was a kink thing, though (when really the girl was just annoying me for whatever reason.) But that was during sex, so not sure it counts.

I've actually whacked off more times then I've gotten off purely through sex, is that odd? It takes me FOREVER to get off with a rubber on (ie 45-60 minutes) and it just isn't good at all, so I usually prefer whacking with help/visual aide. LOL.

Believe me, it's not by choice. I could have had sex with many, many more women then I have except I routinely turn down/don't pursue because sex with a condom is just dumb and I ain't throwing Snake Plissken into a questionable place without armor. I'd prefer to have sex, but sometimes I get sick of worrying about another person's orgasm. It kinda sucks how men are expected to 'make a girl cum' all the time. It makes sex seem more like a chore than intimacy. My ex developed an attitude where she wouldn't 'let me in' unless I went down on her. You can obviously see how I'd get sick of doing this - it became a routine; a requirement... not spontaneous intimacy. When I finally did get it in, I had to do all this stuff to get her off and I didn't enjoy it much at all (after a while), sometimes I even lost my hard on. It's hard to be aroused when you have to sit up in a really uncomfortable position or strain your arm and rub her down, especially when she's not riding you the way you like it or she tells you to screw her from a really boring angle. I got irritated after a while because she wasn't aroused when I wanted some and just gave up. I started staying up really late, after she went to bed and was watching porn to get myself off. Soooo pathetic. I kept it a secret from her, too. If I told her she would have just gotten mad at me and would have treated me worse. I'd already tried talking to her about it, but she got offended; she didn't understand.

Oh, and I hardly ever use condoms.
