How long ago did you ask for his number? If you leave it too long he might think you are no longer interested, so don't sit around waiting for him to make a move. Girls are allowed to take the initiative too.

I can't speak for everyone, but I wouldn't just dish out my number if I didn't have an interest of some sort in the person. Whether he likes you as a friend, or something more, I can't say. It's a good start though. Find out tomorrow.
