Hey everyone I'm new here and I could use some insight. I'll throw anyone some rep too if they can help me out. I'm a senior in HS and I introduced myself to this girl in November. She seemed real nice yet she was really hesitant to give me her number. I texted her with a "hey Megan it's Mike" the next day and she never answered. So I got over her.

We do have a mutual friend though and after having two dates cancel for my senior prom this May, our friend set me up to go with Megan. I asked Megan and she said yes. Now, we have been talking about random stuff, and talking a little about hanging out. I feel I may kind of like her again.

Friday we texted just talking about food and how we both love the diner, and The Strokes, and how nothing in the world is better than eating breakfast for dinner. Just casual conversations with lieke 10-15 mins inbetween replies and that lasted from 2 pm to 3 in the morning before I said I was tired and good night.

I am hesitant as she didn't answer my text that one time a long time ago. Does this sound like she may have interest? Or is she just being nice? Think I should try hanging out before prom? with her or with a group? Or should i keep taking it slow?

If you are going to take the lack of response to one of your text messages that personally, maybe you shouldn't be using text messages to communicate at all with people you barely know/females.

Does this sound like she may have interest? Or is she just being nice? Think I should try hanging out before prom? with her or with a group? Or should i keep taking it slow?

Who knows? She has enough interest to attend prom with you. Do you ever talk outside of the text messages?
