More confusion about ex

Have been seeing my ex from way back over 10yrs ago for the most part pretty casually. Recently I brought up the fact that its hard for me to sleep with him because I would have feelings for him. He got all mad and said he didnt want a relationship. From then on he still texted me, we went out but didnt do anything. Then he texts me for drinks on friday the day we had been usually going out, i told him sure but then i didnt get back to him due to problems with my phone. The next day when it came back on, i got like 7 messages asking me if" im coming", WTF," im waiting", "thats the last time im gonna ask you out", and finally, "i had the house to my self and everything"....next day I txt back apologizing for him waiting and explained the situation and that i already had a few drinks at that timel. He just said "i should not have made plans with him then", i agreed and apologized again but havent heard back since so here's my question:

If he doesnt want a relationship why does he keep txting?
If he knows now that i do and cant just have sex why does he keep txting?
If he doesnt have feelings why did he get so mad?
I FEEL LIKE IM ON AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER SINCE BEING WITH HIM AGAIN AND IM AFRAID TO SAY ANYTHING NOW,
PLEASE HELP!
