I spent most of my adolescent life with the same woman. because of that I don't really know how to date or meet other people. do you have any suggestions?

Find someone who you find attractive and interesting. You can normally find some people like this in your social groups, school, church, events, places you like to go, etc. Then, you approach the person and ask her out. If she says yes, you go on a date. If she says no, you move on to someone else.
Rinse, lather, repeat.

If that doesn't work, online dating sites are an option.
