honesty, dishonesty and being a thief

I had a sale yesterday and my sons father and grandfather(are both still here) said i would never make it as one of them. i guy gave me 10 for a few items and then bought more which cost 10 and didnt realize he gave me 10 already and tried to give me 2 10s instead of 1 10 so i gave him back one of the 10s. so i got lectured on how i would never make it as one of them. Im not a thief nor am i dishonest(yea i fib now and then mostly to keep my pets) I DONT WANT my son to be raised like that. I want him to be honest.

at this rate i dont wanna be one of them!!!!

If you wanna make a lot of money, a little dishonesty is required. That doesn't mean stealing a man's money because he miscounted. It means you have to be dishonest with your appraisal: Mock up the prices a little higher and try to swindle foolish customers.

If someone taught my son to take miscounted money like that, I would rip their balls off.

i usually mark prices up so when somebody tries to talk me down i get the price i want anyways. I dont want my boy being like the rest of that family. the men dont hold jobs in that family.

Not a very good environment for a child is it? Then teach your son that he has to get off his ass and go cut lawns, wash windows, deliver newspapers or flyers etc. Encourage to do an honest effort, to accept any challenge and to understand that hard work pays off. And make sure you make full effort to not expose your son his father's, grandfather's wrong doings as much as possible.

I have a question....why hook up with a family that can't hold down a job and make an honest days pay?

i didnt know until after he and i got together. THOUGH he has held 2 jobs the 3 years we have been together. ME i have only had 1 job which i lost cause my son was sick and i got injured at work. I get that thrown in my face all the time.
