Dear all men and women: Never do this

Everyone loves texting these days. So much that it sometimes dominates actual phone conversations. This problem results in the over use of texting acronyms. Saying 'lol' every five seconds is annoying and unattractive. Whats even worse is when these acronyms slip into every day speech.

If you're on a date and over the age of twenty your partner should not be saying "OMG" or "LOL" or "BTW" out loud. Don't you agree? Or is this just a problem I have?

I think it's pretty off-putting - however, I sometimes say OMG to be funny. Mostly when I'm making fun of some teenager or dumb young girl.

Yeah, joking around isn't really annoying. But when you're on a date with a man or woman who does it without even noticing; that can be very off-putting.

Yeah, I don't think I'd date that person again. Haha.

Text speech makes the person using it appear to be quite stupid.

Do you mean people say the letters of the acronym instead of the words? i.e. OMG instead of 'oh my god'?

No, I've never heard this, but on thinking about it, 'OMG' instead of 'oh my god' is less profane (no actual speaking 'god') and takes the same amount of syllables to say. So what's the problem?
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.

The problem is that the OP is being a quaint purist asswipe who is against linguistic memes.

Actually pronouncing the acronym, as in the letters "O" "M" "G" is kind of tacky. But "oh my god" in full isn't too bad. That's just my weird personal preference haha
