A party for couples... and singles!

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to share with the Love Forum community a project I’ve been working on, called “Mix & Match”. It’s about a group of people who are already in relationships contributing to their single friends by inviting them to a Valentine party held on February 12th.

The idea behind this event came to me when I realized a few things, the first one being that although I have already found love and am in a committed relationship (getting married this year!), a lot of people out there are still looking for a special someone. And I know how frustrating the dating scene can be, having been out there myself not so long ago!

I also know that one of the best ways to meet people is through friends, so I created this event (in itself part of a leadership & self-expression program I’ve been taking with Landmark Education) to invite my “coupled” friends to contribute and inspire others... and to spread the love!! It’s very simple: each couple invites 4 single people (2 guys & 2 girls). My project already has 15 couples participating... so that’s 60 singles!

I thought of sharing this with you all in case someone else would be interested in organizing a similar event with their own group of friends. So if you’re someone out there in a loving relationship and wish for others to have what you have, this could be a perfect occasion for you to create great connections and make a difference in someone's life. It’s all about love, fun and inspiration!

Personally, I'd like to thank you. When I began reading your thread I was expecting a url to some site to make you money or something. But now that I've read it I commend you on keeping advertising out of it and simply expressing an idea. Thank you, and I hope this thread inspires someone.
