The 'where is it going' talk....

Hey guys I was just wondering when you should have the "where is this going" talk? (ak: are we boyfriend/girlfriend talk). I read that after 3 months of dating is a good time to bring it up. I also read that if a guy really likes you, he will bring it up first. Is this true? What do you all think?

I've had some dates with this guy, and I really like him, but I don't want to scare him off my bringing this up too early. But I also want to know if this is just a summer fling for him or if he is looking for something more long-term. I know you can't plan out the future. Even if he just wants to have fun this summer and have a summer fling, that is ok with me, as long as I"m clear about it. But if he isn't really looking for a girlfriend, I would like to know.

When do you think you should have the talk, and how?

Most girls usually ask after a few weeks of dating, in my experience. I usually don't bring it up and assume that we are bf/gf after we start spending a lot of time together/exclusively dating.
