Your friend is not really your friend. He is hoping for more, but didn't properly ask you out because he's a weasel.

A pack on the lips? What kind of pack!?

Well, how long have you known this guy? What kind of friend is he? You are a little thin on the details here.

I have given girl friends pecks before, and it has meant nothing, to either of us, but that's because we know each other well enough to understand that such actions are just signs friendly affection.

He doesn't necessarily know that's how you feel.

Thats not even a hint, thats a staight up "I want you" without words.

You can just let it be, say nothing, and if he does it again, tell him that its not appropriate for just friends. This is the most passive and easy option.

If you feel it was unusual of him, it might be. You should probably bring it up with him and communicate.

Then stop being friends with him. He doesn't really want to be your friend, he wants more than you can give him.

Many guys are like that. They don't want to be friends with girls, they just want them.

    PS: Was there alcohol involved?

    Or, even more often, both.
