Does it usually take you to get comfortable with the person you are seeing/dating?

Comfortable meaning, going to the restroom while they are over (not necessarily IN the bathroom with you), bodily functions such as belching and flatulence, and letting them see you at your worst?

Just very curious to see the different answers.

How long is a piece of string?

Depends on you and them, and the kinda relationship you have.

Some people will never feel it is appropriate to see their partner take a dump or a pee pee, or fart next to them on the sofa ... and with good reason.

Others, don't really care.

I would suggest that you avoid such 'exposure' until;

1) you've at least had sex

2) established that the other has a sense of humour

3) know that it wouldn't piss the other person off/disgust them

I wouldn't use feeling comfortable doing any of those things as a 'marker' in a relationship ... certainly not a level of comfortableness to strive for, unless of course it is absolutely necessary and unavoidable for either of you be exposed to such a thing.

Generally, I don't burp or fart in front of people. If it happens, it happens, but mostly we have control over these things. If anyone gets too comfortable doing this in front of their partner I don't feel it's a good thing. In fact, geting too used to it is a lack of respect in my opinion.

I agree that it depends too much on the individual people involved. If someone is a crude person who does things like belching the alphabet during a wedding toast, then they will attract other people who are similar to that. So it all depends on the type of person you are and the type of person you want to be with.
