Understand three main things - 1) Everybody lies. 2) Everyone is there to meet someone, so you have something in common from the start. and 3) People are looking for just as many different things there as they are in real-life. Casual, serious, just hooking up, etc.

Make sure your pics are current and not 10 years old, because eventually you'll meet someone and if they see that noticable difference, they'll bail.

Over half of that article seems prejudicial crap but I do agree on some points.
