What does this text mean?

In my group of friends there is a girl who I'm friends with, but basically only within my group I've never hung out with her alone and never like text her or anything. Anyway, after a night of us all drinking I walked her back to her apartment with her roommate and her boyfriend and after that on the way back she texted me saying thanks for walking me back or it would have been awkward. I merely replied no problem anytime. Then she sent Same I know it's weird, but I almost want you to stay haha. I'm not very good at judging flirting and stuff so, does this mean she was thinking of hooking up, just wanted someone to talk to, or what exactly? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

It means she wanted you to stay...whether or not as a friend or not, you won't know unless you ask

Yep, she wanted you to stay but chickened out. Shes trying to flirt but is afraid that you don't feel the same way, so that's why she added the 'haha' not wanting to scare you away. I'm guessing she was wanting to hook up.
