are we talkin bout the marijuana
I have smoked for 10 years now. (Yeesh...and I remember saying it was a temporary thing). I never smoked more than 1/3 of a pack/day over that time, but have slowly been cutting down since January and now a pack lasts me about 3 weeks. By next month I will no longer smoke! Guaranteed. There's just one final hurdle I haven't been able to get over...the bedtime smoke.
i've smoked since 19. not much though max of 2 a day unless i am drinking.

I switched completely to E-cigs in January. Haven't had a real cigarette since 01/06/11 ... I don't even use the e-cig much either.

Life is ... Too Short.
"It seems we living the 'American Dream', but the people highest up got the lowest self-esteem. The prettiest people do the ugliest things ... for the road to riches and diamond rings."
I started at 16, quit at 17, didn't smoke again until I was 27. Met my husband, a smoker. Have been smoking on and off since then (4 years now) and it's been more ON than off. I usually quit when he makes another attempt at quitting. His longest stretch has been 3 mos.
HOWEVER I decided to quit last week, even though he's not planning to at this point in time. I went cold turkey last Sunday.....doing pretty good.
Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever. - Mohandas Gandhi
Had my first smoke at 4 (offered by my gate guard Lazarus back in Zambia ) , coughed from it and haven't had it since. Maybe that's what kept me away from it, would thank him now if only he was still alive.
Don't smoke & truthfully never even tried it. Been around enough smokers over the years to have probably just as bad of lungs as smokers...lol
And I hope that one day people will not judge us by the colour of our lungs but by the content of our character
Five months without one now but reading this just gave me a craving. Thanks.. NOT! ;O)

Yea smoked since i was 16 hate it but hell my body tried to quit last year and failed after doc said you have brain lesions, multiple scerosis and oh yea by the time your 45 you will be crippled and in a chair (already there at 40)due to a diseased spine so i got bets on which will get me first.
If i cant laugh about it, there's no way im gonna cry

I've smoked for 26 of the last 27 years. Quit for 5 months once and started up again, quit for 7 months and started up again... I'm a dumbass.
I made myself three resolutions for this year, one of them is that I'm going to quit smoking before the year is out. Been cutting back, need to make the cutting back more drastic.
The other two resolutions:
Marry the woman of my dreams - done.
Complete a Century Ride (100 miles in a day) on my bicycle... need to step up my training for that too.
wowzer! Where do you get the lung strength to ride like that when you smoke? Your lungs must be in good shape.

I did quit for a few months until a couple weeks ago when the car I was driving broke down in a field in the middle of nowhere. Had nothing to do until someone came and picked us up plus I felt pretty bad though it wasn't my fault... and I guess I broke down too.
