Says he has feelings, but doesn't want a relationship?

Long story short, he's a college freshman and I am a sophomore. We tried long distance my freshman year and it did not work. When the subject came up again this time, he said, "I have feelings for you, I guess, but not enough to be in a relationship."

    What does that mean?

Does it just mean that he cares about me but he wants to be free to "experience" college?

Pretty mature of you to realize this. Just on face value - seems like a good guy, but realizes that college isn't for LTRs.

Experience it yourself. Go back to him later if it happens correctly.

    Or, find someone better.

He values your friendship, but is aware of how hard would be to make a LDR to work. Is a matter of realizing that in his real time and space there are more practical options, than to go LDR and all that it implies.
