How much going out is too much ?

Hi, I'm looking for a female perspective on thus question, I go out once a week usu at weekends for drinks with friends etc as always believed work hard play hard. I'm a committed father and have 2 boys and the only time I normally go out is either a fri or sat. This week went to a best friends birthday dinner and the topic came up of me going out too much as their partners don't go anywhere without them - does this mean that I am going out too much and having a good time ??? Just to add the reason not normally out with partner is childcare issues and if she wants to go out that is always fine as then I normally stay in, it was just the reaction that I got from these other women that got me thinking and so hence on this forum to get your opinions

I don't see a problem with going out without your partner actually most of the "experts" that write articles on the subject of marriage think it's for the best. Time apart truly helps a partnership, when every single thing is shared together things can get stale and boring. As long as there is no trust issues with it and your partner has no issue with and you allow her to go out as well no problem at all in my opinion. I am not a woman but I don't see the problem in it.

You need SOME time apart, but really, how often do YOU stay home and watch the kids while your partner goes out? If she cannot go out she may get resentful.

I don't think it's a big deal to go out once a week to hang with the guys for a few hours, but if you are attending parties while your wife/girlfriend/whatever sits at home watching the kids, that kinda sucks.

Maybe half of the time just have them over at your house to drink beer and watch football.
