after meeting a girl for the first time and both agreeing to meet up again, how long should you wait for that?

i met the girl on friday, i thought the week after the upcoming week will be better. we aren't dating, just in the getting to know each other stage. I don't want it to seem like I'm smothering her. We will still communicate though

That's probably too late. Get a drink after work sometime this week.

You don't have to do a full dinner/etc. date. But do something this week. It shows you're interested without smothering her.

I agree that waiting another whole week might be too long. Maybe ask her to go grab coffee or dessert or something. Something low key but it would still show that you are interested.
