My boyfriend and I are coming up to 3yrs, and so I've been thinking about our future together. I want to ask him where he sees our relationship going. I want to know that we're not wasting my/his time. I know that he does want to get married and he does want to have kids as we have talked about our individual futures but what I want to know is if he sees his future with me in it, whether he plans to propose one day. It makes me very nervous to talk about serious stuff like this, so...
How do I bring this subject up? What do I say? What do I ask? Just plain old help... Thanks.

Are you living together? If not, suggest that and see what bites. If you are, then you'll have to be more direct. Say you notice your relationship is approaching a common law one. Ask how he feels about marriage. Try to get a general sense from him first his thoughts.

Im 23, hes 26. Im definitely not ready to get married or have babies right now, just wondering if he can see himself doing that stuff with me, I guess.
