What should I do now?

It all started about a year ago, and he is a year older than I am. We knew we were both going on the same school trip together (5 nights to a different state), so we starting instant messaging at night. He almost always started it, and we would literally talk for hours. He would ask about embarrassing hookup/relationship stories, fears and insecurities, but also about who he was thinking of asking to his prom (not me of course). Nothing happened on the trip but we hung out together a little, and would text me about coming outside with the rest of his group got back. After this, he would come outside every day during a specific class and sit down with me, but I am kind of awkward and shy. He also used to ask for hugs, and at parties he would ask my friends where i was before i arrived. we talked online every night until the early hours for the entire summer, talked about hanging out but somehow never had the chance. The beginning of this year, we talked a little but nowhere near as much. He became good friends with a close friend of mine who has a boyfriend, and we seemed to drift apart. I'd try to start convos online, but they never went anywhere or lasted long. We ran out of things to talk about.
Sometimes he'd say hi to me in the hallway, but usually not. More than twice he has come up and hugged me from behind, but never in school, only on field trips. He'd hug normally in school. But now, he doesn't acknowledge me and always seems to hug a girl the second I am around. I was studying with my friend today and I felt him looking at me (or maybe I glanced toward him first?) and we made eye contact but with no emotion from either of us whatsoever. It's really upsetting for me, because I think he gave up being friends with me because I am too high maintenance/shy/ugly/awkward/something. If you need more details let me know, I just want to know if I should continue to ignore him as he does to me. A few times I started convos and he was always friendly (online) but it only lasted a few minutes. I decided I couldn't chat him again until he did me first, but that hasn't happened since like November 2011, maybe earlier.

This is your answer. Guys are just like that....when someone better comes along, they drop ya like a hot potato. It don't matter if she has a BF, if she is giving him attention and she is hot, he's gonna want to be preoccupied with her instead. It's done between you two....just ignore him and move along.
