    Confused

A month ago my girlfriend broke up with me. We had been together for 2 1/2 years. While we were together I had cheated on her with an ex girlfriend who I wasn't totally over. We had broken up for a few months but then she called me one day and said she loved me..We ended up getting back together after talking and me promising that I would never hurt her again. I did change, and knowing that I could lose her made me. I devoted everything to her. We spent everyday together, and when we weren't we were always texting/calling eachother. We pretty much lived together. After 8 months of being back together she started acting different. She wouldn't invite me to her family things, which I always was a part of. She began to go out and would start to become more and more distant from me. She eventually said she needed her space and that she wasn't totally over what I did to her. I was upset because everything was going great, and out of nowhere she tells me she wants to break up. A week after we broke up she had a guy over after a night of drinking. I was very upset. How could she do this that fast? I thought it was her way of trying to get back at me. Then a week after that this guy was out of town, she went out drinking and called me at 2:30am because she wanted to spend the night. This led to us having sex. She would tell me through mean texts that she's over me and then she comes over when she's drunk? I knew she wasn't over me. She still hangs out with this guy and it usually involves drinking. Last night she called and wanted me to come over to her house. I did, and we talked for hours like everything was normal. Then I said I should leave, but she responded by saying I want to cuddle for a little bit. We cuddled but then she kept rubbing me which led to fooling around. Then she says I can't be doing this when I'm hanging out with someone else..."but I really want to". I told her I needed to leave and then she said I really don't want you to leave. But knowing I should I did. She kissed me goodbye and then said she would call me if she couldn't fall asleep.

I'm just really confused by what she is doing. I love her with everything I have. Ofcourse I want to be with her, but is she only hanging out with this other guy as a rebound relationship. I don't contact her unless she contacts me because she asked me for space. I'm stuck. Is she really still in love with me but needs to do this to make sure that she still loves me? I need advice.

Things become very different for the other person when you cheat. She now feels like she can control the relationship and do a lot of things that might make you upset. It's a tough road for you and i dont' know if you'll ever be able to make things the same again. You really should move on and i know you said you love her and all but not many people can easily forgive and forget so this could just get worse.

This is a very good example of the long term damage cheating can have on a relationship. I know through experience can never forgive or forget someone who cheated on me, its simply over and there is no return to that relationship. She gave it a shot, but it likely sat in the back of her mind the entire time, and after months of it pulling on her, she eventually couldn't take it anymore.

Now she is unsure of her direction, her feelings are mixed, and she is playing with both yours and another guys hearts. One thing is for sure, you'll never have a normal relationship with this girl again.
