My crush's bithday is soon but dont know how to start a conversation on facebook

I just recently added my crush on facebook, and she confirmed, i saw that her birthday is coming up. I don't know how to start a conversation with her. She is not actually my friend but, we met freshmen year but have never spoken to each other since and she has not been in any of my classes. im gonna be a junior. how do i tell her i want to draw her something and post it on her wall but give the real drawing once we start school again? do i say something like:

me "I remember you from..."

how do you think she would respond and how would i continue the conversation

should i ask

"I noticed that your birthday is coming up, would you like me to draw you something, ill post in on your wall and give it to you when school starts,"

should i also say
"what classes are you taking next year?"

even when i know what she will be taking and respond with

" I'm taking those too, hope u could be in my classes"
