I know it's been a minute since it came out, but I didn't see a discussion after running a simple search. So for those who saw this movie, I have some points of discussion/questions:

The opening scene, with that humanoid character drinking what we later came to see was the biological weapon they created: why did he drink it? Do you remember that aircraft hovering overhead, too?, either an evacuation or they were waiting for him to drink it before they left (doubtful), but what did that aircraft mean to tell us? just that they were evacuating?

Since we were told IN the movie, I assume we are led to believe certain things for sure and that is that, sure enough, they were creating a weapon and, sure enough, they were headed over to destroy humanity on Earth. And they didn't say the reason (Prometheus 2, I guess), but we also know that they lost control of the weapon and it turned on them. I guess we can take this for fact.

My question now, though, is, what exactly the weapon does. My theory is that at its base form, WHEN CONSUMED it kills the host by mutating at the DNA level and making the host something different...a monster who seems to only want to kill, i guess...a territorial instinctive reaction, perhaps. Going back to the opening scene, when the character drinks a lot of it, it immediately breaks him down to bits and the camera show us this humanoid broken down to the DNA level. Later we come to find that we have matching DNA with these beings. So this opening scene, was it showing us HUMAN beginnings, maybe? did we evolve from a DNA base form of THEM? In the opening scene, was that a prehistoric Earth?

What else does this parasitic weapon do? I mentioned "when consumed" because of what it did to Charly and to the Humanoid. Remember other effects? Like in that room, as the tanks were deploying the weapon, i think we are shown that the earthworms were mutated into those snake like things that attacked the geologist and the biologist. I guess the worms got mutated by consuming the parasite, but after a generation or so, do they go into what we know about aliens and start planting eggs inside hosts to hatch a new and different form of the alien, taking the characteristics of the host along with characteristics tipical of the parasite like multiple mouths and the such. We see that this happen at the very end when the humanoid who was awakened has a hatchling come out of him/her and it looks a lot more "humanoid" and less octopus like (as was the case of that larvae-like thing that finally got into his/her mouth).

Anyway..any theories?

haven't watch the movie yet... is it nice?

If you like Sci-Fi you'll like it. Especially if you are familiar with the Alien saga.
