Go Indigo! You read Fountainhead, eh? I cannot recommend that book highly enough. (By Ayn Rand.)
My favorite novel is East of Eden, by John Steinbeck. So, so, so good.

Has to be 1984. Makes you really think, then you want to get rid of anything that has to do with technology and live like it was 1084. Great book, but scary if you thin about it, cause it's happening.

Yup. Rands stuff is good. The F. is her best, tho, for readability IMHO. Tried EoE as a teenager, but couldn't get into it. Maybe should try again, now I am older... had same problem w/Hemingway ::yawn::

Definitely look into Steinbeck again. "Eden" starts out with the characteristic, lengthy poetics, but it picks up around chapter three. And after you're done you will actually want to go back and see what you may have overlooked when he described the green, lush, Salinas Valley. Originally Posted by indigosoul

Brave new World (better than 1984, i think)
Oh, & of course, Desirable & Undesirable Characteristics of Offshore Yachts
Brave New World was incredible. I plan on looking into the other recs.

A book called CHOBITS changed my life (o.k. its more of a comic book, lol) but it gave me a whole new perspective on love and life, and made me realize alot about myself.

"Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. Was forced to read it, hated it, but it was life changing. Showed me cruelty personified.
